The AWS D1.8 Seismic Supplement to the Structural Welding Code is now being specified in construction documents for projects of all types. D1.8 will require changes in practices for steel fabricators and erectors. Attend this seminar and learn about the background history that led to D1.8; how D1.8 interacts with D1.1 and AISC specs; what engineers are required to include on drawings; new terms associated with seismic construction; new requirements for welding procedure specifications (WPS’s); new filler metal requirements; new welder qualification requirements; new detailing and fabrication requirements, and solutions to help meet these challenges.
